Brent Mind is running a Hearing Voices group, answering a local need for of type of service which is gaining increasing support from both traditional psychiatry and voice hearers themselves. . Research has shown that groups are effective in helping people cope with and manage their voice hearing.

Hearing voices Groups are typically a number of people who share the experience of hearing voices, coming together to help and support each other. They can offer an opportunity:

  • To talk freely about voices
  • To feel accepted
  • To be in a safe and non-judgemental atmosphere
  • To share coping strategies, information and ideas
  • To become less isolated and lonely
  • No longer having to deny or keep quiet about the experience
  • To feel supported
  • Help people to decide to accept responsibility for their mental health.

The group runs every other Tuesday 2.30pm till 3.30pm
