Few people realise that as an independent organisation we have to rely on the support of individuals and organisations to fund the vital mental health services we provide in Brent. All the money you directly donate to us will be put towards offering local services for local people.

Supporting Brent Mind

There are many ways that you could help us continue to carry out our work.We urgently need to raise £30,000, to provide free services for our Befriending, Rainbow, Hearing Voices and counselling groups this coming year. Many of the people who come to us have no one else to turn to, especially those on low pay who cannot afford private counselling.

Make a donation

Any amount, large or small, one-off or regular will be used by Brent Mind to support local people in mental distress. If you are a UK taxpayer, using Gift Aid can automatically make every £1 you donate worth £1.28. You can make a swift and secure payment online, or download a donation form and post it to us.

Company support

We welcome support from companies, and getting involved has benefits for your business. By demonstrating support for our cause there will be the opportunity:

  • to demonstrate that your company has its roots in the local community
  • to raise awareness of your company's commitment to alleviating the stigma attached to mental illness;
  • the chance for your main decision makers to attend Brent Mind and National Mind events;
  • for your employees to get involved;
  • for positive media coverage that comes through a partnership with a charity;
  • to raise your company's profile to a range of your customers and suppliers;
  • acknowledgement of your company's support in Brent Mind's publicity materials.

There are many ways your company can help Brent Mind:

  • You can launch your own employee fundraising programme. For example, Payroll Giving is a simple, tax efficient way for employees to donate to Brent Mind.
  • Why not choose Brent Mind for a company donation?
  • You can nominate Brent Mind as your company's Charity of the Year.
  • Sponsorship opens up new commercial opportunities for your company in the community.
  • Donate shares. Since April 1st 2000 companies can get corporation tax relief for gifts to charity of shares, securities and other types of investment. This relief is in addition to relief from corporation tax on capital gains on gifts to charity of shares, securities and other assets.
  • Invite Brent Mind to give presentations to your staff and customers about how employers can help employees with mental health problems. 1 in 4 people in the UK experiences a mental illness - that's a quarter of the population! Stress at work is a key factor.

For more information, or to discuss any of these opportunities, please contact Jan Knight on 020 8451 3200 or by email.
